Six new spooky player backgrounds, spellbooks, and relics for Cairn! This supplement also includes new potion-making rules and mechanics for Cairn (or any role-playing game).

Hoping to play a spooky Cairn adventure for Halloween—like The Forgetting of Lockwood Manor, Demon Driven to the Maw, or Barrow of the Elf King? Then pick up these player backgrounds for free! (Or for the recommended donation of $6.66.)

Play as one of the following, each with bespoke starting items (like special light sources and rations) as well as unique background tables:

- Brewbottle: A witchy, potioner background. You don't start with any spellbooks, but you can make potions as long as you have your cauldron (uses new potion-making rules).

- Carriage Driver: The PCs have to get to the haunted manor somehow, right? Cut out the middle man and drive your party through the wooded roads yourself.

- Constable: Every murder mystery needs its detective. (More of an Ichabod Crane than a Sherlock Holmes.)

- Monsterhunter: Roll for (or choose) your monster specialty—do you hunt vampires, like Van Helsing, or do you chase ghosts with your Mirror of Ethereality?

- Pilgrim: No spooky story is complete without a righteous believer! As an itinerant acolyte, you worship a dark deity—like Hræfn, flock-god of ravens, or Eoten, cult of supernatural monsters and beasts.

- Soothsayer: You have seen the darkness that lies ahead. Lead your party to fulfill the prophecy you've seen, with the help of a crystal ball, tarot deck, or other tool of divination.

Inspired by sources like The Crucible (1996),  Sleepy Hollow (1999), Over the Garden Wall (2014), and the Old English language (5th century–1066).
